Bulgarian artist Svetlena Duncheva
Svetlena Duncheva is a Bulgarian artist, architect and designer whose artistic practice explores the intersection of contemporary art, architecture, symbolism and human experience.
With an academic background in architecture, she brings a distinctive sensitivity to composition, space, structure and material into her artistic work. Her visual language combines expressive mixed media, layered textures, transparency and colour to create conceptually rich works that invite reflection and personal interpretation.
Her selected works include Escape to Antiquity, a reflection on the timeless wisdom of Ancient Greece and the contemporary individual’s search for meaning and refuge; Confession, an exploration of inner experience and emotional revelation; and Queen of Nature, a meditation on humanity’s intrinsic connection with the natural world.
Alongside her artistic practice…
Her activities include participation in international art events and exhibitions across Europe, such as: Solo exhibition “Sensitivity” in Sofia Bulgaria; three Certificates of Artistic Achievement from the Luxembourg Art Prize; “Premio Brera 26” in Milan Italy; “ARTe Wiesbaden” in Germany; an International exhibition at the Diocesan Museum in Gaeta, Italy; and the 6th Spanish Biennial of Fine Arts in Barcelona (at the MEAM – Museu Europeu d’Art Modern), where she was selected and linked to the International Prize “REMBRANDT 2026” award.
